15 year old Melissa Bury is one of Great Britain’s most talented young cyclists. She performs in all disciplines of cycling, including track, road, mountain, hill climbing, Cyclo-cross and grass track. Melissa uses Thule cycle carriers to ensure her high value bikes are securely and safely transported to all her competitions.
Melissa is part of the British Cycling talent team and through expert coaching provided as part of this, has developed race technique across road and track.

Melissa has been able to put the tools and techniques she has learned to good use by achieving some great results in 2009 and getting the chance to train in Belgium on more than one occasion.
She has also been granted permission to ride against senior cyclists. Melissa says she favours racing against senior riders because; “the prize money is better and the races tend to be longer and faster.”
Senior competition results for Melissa have included a win at Mildenhall against 25 senior women, and two fifth places in the circuit National championships and the youth Omnium track championships. These placings have proved that although 15 year old, Melissa is only in the first year of a two year age category, she is a real threat to more experienced competitors.
Another highlight of 2009 saw Melissa selected to represent North West in the UK School Games event held in South Wales. Melissa managed to secure three silver medals and two bronze from seven events. She met Denise Lewis and Jamie Staff MBE (Beijing olympic gold medallist) at the event. Jamie helped her to set up and passed on valuable words of wisdom.
