Kadeer Ali has been presented with the Thule Player of the Month (POTM) Award for the second time, following an impressive run of good innings for the club.
The 24-year-old is recognised as one of England’s most exciting young batting talents. Birmingham born Kadeer, who is also a first-rate medium pace bowler, proved he deserved May’s POTM award by scoring 409 championship runs since the start of the season, averaging 51. This includes 102 against Glamorgan, 92 against Leicestershire and 95 against Somerset. As well as this achievement Kadeer has also scored 89 against Somerset in the Friends Provident Trophy.
Thule, the world’s largest manufacturer of car roof systems, accessories and roof boxes, sponsor Gloucestershire’s Player of the Month Award. On Friday 1st June Thule’s marketing manager, Peter Barker, was there to congratulate Kadeer on winning the first Thule POTM of the 2007 season. Presenting Kadeer with his second POTM trophy, Peter Barker commented: “It is great to see some of the younger players, like Kadeer, really excel in their cricket - Kadeer seems to get better and better every time he goes out on the field.” |
