Two Girls, One Car, Unlimited Adventure
One of Thule’s latest partners in sport is Team Driving Miss Daisy. Sophie Willingale and Helen Emery are taking up the challenge to travel a quarter of the way around the earth, from London to Mongolia in a car that has an engine with no more than 1 litre of power. The rally starts from Hyde Park, London and the team is to cross the following countries:
France, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Armenia or Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkministan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Mongolia.
The rally finishes near the Mongolian capital Ulaan Bataar about a month and a whole lot of adventure later, through deserts, over mountains, from cold to 50 degrees Celcius. In a normal year just over half the teams make the finish line in one piece.
