The Thule Champagne Moment of the Season was presented to Richard Dawson, on behalf of Mark Hardinges, by Rex Body, Deputy Chairman of Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, at the club’s 2008 annual award’s dinner.
Sponsored by Thule, the world’s largest manufacturer of car roof rack systems, roof boxes and accessories, the Champagne Moment is presented to a player who gives an outstanding individual performance during the season. The award was given to Hardinges for his remarkable hitting when the Gladiators faced the Hampshire Hawks in May. Hardinges was significant in guiding the Gladiators to their five-wicket win over the Hawks. His 44-ball innings included four fours and an enormous straight six off Mascarenhas, which landed on the balcony of the pavilion.
“Thule is enormously proud of its long standing relationship with Gloucestershire County Cricket Club,” said Thule’s UK General Manager Peter Barker. “Both the Champagne Moment and the Player of the Month awards enable us to show our involvement in the club and recognise the achievements of players, such as Mark Hardinges, who have accomplished great things in the 2008 season.” |
