Ranked 14th in the world and 6th in Europe, Ben Reid hails from County Down, Northern Ireland and travels all over the world competing in high level mountain bike competitions. Ben drives himself to all his competitions is a customised van, complete now with Thule products to help carry his luggage and bikes.
Ben’s main discipline is downhill mountain bike racing, but he is a skilled cross country and free rider. His experience on the world circuit means he can only get better year on year and is aiming for the very top.
Ben won his region’s sports personality of the year in 2008 and has been featured on BBC2’s coverage of the Fort William World Championships, in a round up of his 2007 season on BBC Northern Ireland, in nearly all MTB magazines and several professional mountain biking DVDs.

Ben has competed all over the world during the last couple of months, competing at World Championships in Commenzadurra, Italy, the Italian National rounds and World Cup rounds in Mount St. Anne and Bromont, Canada. Ben also attended the nine day Crankworx Freeride Festival in Whistler, Canada, achieving 12th place in the Pro Men’s table with a time of 15:16:4.
Ben has been travelling to and from events in his recently customised team van, complete with Thule accessories and logo. He has also launched his new website, www.justreid.com, on which you can find his latest news, blogs and event pictures. |
