Professional female golfer, Kirsty Taylor, has been a regular on the Ladies European circuit since 1995.
Kirsty joined the Thule Partner in Sport scheme at the end of 2009. She uses Thule roof bars and Pacific 200 roof box transport her golf equipment, and a ProRide 591 for her bikes for fitness training.
Based in Tetbury, Gloucestershire. Kirsty represents and trains at Minchinhampton Golf Club,.
Kirsty turned professional in 1995, after a successful amateur golf career. She became a member of the Ladies European Tour and by 2000, was really starting to show her talent for the game.
In 2000, Kirsty finished second in the Women’s British Open and the Mexx Sport Open in Holland. She also finished in the top 10 on a further four occasions, and was second on the Ladies European Tour Final Money List.
In 2005, Kirsty won the Wales Ladies Championship of Europe against a world class field of competitors. She set a course and a European Tour record low round of 61 in the opening round of the tournament, and fended off leading professionals Laura Davies and Trish Johnson to take the title.
2005 continued to be a great year for Kirsty, with numerous top 10 results. By finishing ninth on the Ladies European Tour Final Money List, she secured her position to represent England with Laura Davies in the Women’s World Cup of
Golf, in Sun City, South Africa.
In 2007 Kirsty posted seven top 10 finishes out of 19 tournaments, and finished runner-up in the Catalonia Ladies Masters, Ladies English Open, Ladies Scottish Open and the Nykredit Masters in Denmark. Kirsty got the chance to represent England in the Women’s World Cup of Golf, held in South Africa in early 2008.
However, in January 2008 Kirsty was struck down with a brain tumour. Sadly this meant withdrawing from representing England in the World Cup, and also from any tournament play that year. Following several operations and radiotherapy treatment, Kirsty was finally able to start to practise again later that year and returned to tournament play in 2009.
Kirsty commented: “The support I have received from Thule has been immensely helpful for my return to full fitness. The roof box holds my golf clubs in the golf bag perfectly, giving me the optimum amount of space in the car when travelling to tournaments in the UK and around Europe, or even just to practice sessions.”
“I also use the bike racks a great deal, to transport my bikes to locations where I can work-out under different conditions.”
In 2010, Kirsty will return to the Ladies European Tour, and to once again being a highly competitive and successful professional golfer.
